National Nature Day - 1st May
National Nature Day - 1st May
To inspire a lifelong respect for nature by helping children experience the joy and responsibility of planting and nurturing a living plant... growing care, patience, and environmental stewardship one seed at a time. 🌱

National Nature Day was inspired by Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision and a simple question: how could one person make a meaningful, scalable difference for the natural world? The answer became clear - empower children. By bringing nature into classrooms and placing responsibility in young hands, a simple idea became a national movement. 🌱

It's so simple! On 1st May, each child plants a sunflower seed in a pot at school. They take it home, care for it, and watch it grow - taking progress photos along the way! At the end of term they bring it back in to show their friends and teachers, and to see who has grown the biggest sunflower. 🌱

By giving children responsibility for a living plant, National Nature Day creates a real, lasting connection to nature. It teaches patience, care, and respect through experience rather than theory, extending learning from the classroom into the home. Simple, inclusive, and scalable, one small seed helps grow lifelong environmental values. 🌱

Let's inspire children to love nature. Let's spark their imagination. Let's open their eyes to the wonder of the natural world... and let's have some fun along the way.. one plant at a time.
